Buncombe County Veterans Assistance and Vital Records moving

The Buncombe County Veterans Assistance office and Vital Records office (not to be confused with the Register of Deeds office) are moving from their current location at 40 Coxe Ave. to 199 college street. The Health and Human services building on Coxe is currently being revamped with new parking.

Press release from Buncombe County Health and Human Services:

To streamline services and make access easier for customers, Buncombe County Veterans Assistance and Vital Records Offices are relocating to 199 College Street. The new location is between the Buncombe County Courthouse Annex and 205 College Street, near the College Street traffic circle. Parking for the Veterans Assistance Office and the Vital Records Office will be in the County Parking Garage located at 164 College Street in Downtown Asheville. There will also be several spaces in front of 200 College Street reserved for veterans and those needing to access vital records.

On October 12, 2015, BCHHS Veterans Assistance Offices will move to 199 College Street. The BCHHS Veterans Assistance Office offers assistance in a wide range of services to our nation’s veterans, service members and their families. BCHHS Veterans Assistance Office can help Veterans apply for services, provide connection to jobs and training, home loans, disability benefits, and access to health care. More information about the Veterans Assistance Office can be found online at www.buncombecounty.org/veterans. Our officers can be reached by phone at (828) 250-5726. Interpreter services are available and free of charge.

BCHHS Vital Records will also make the move to 199 College Street. Vital Records will be open at the new location on October 26, 2015.
