Burial Beer Co. releases Skillet Donut Stout in 16-ounce cans

On Saturday, June 6, Burial Beer Co. released its Skillet Donut Stout in 16-ounce cans after working for months on the label design. The brewing company first released the cans for purchase at its taproom and will then distribute them to local retailers. Vortex Doughnuts provided limited edition donuts made with a Skillet Donut Stout glaze for the celebration, and Burial Beer Co. had the breakfast stout available both on tap and in cans.

Each can features two illustrations by David Paul Seymour which represent a “light side” and a “dark side.” Although all cans available for pre-sale are sold out, Burial Beer Co. will brew batches every two or three weeks and sell them at its taproom and select retailers. Later this month and in July, the brewing company plans to can its Scythe Rye IPA and Bolo Coconut Brown for retail as well.

Press Release

To say we are excited is an understatement. After months of working on art
and design, we are releasing our Skillet Donut Stout in 16oz cans on
Saturday, June 6th 2015 at our taproom at 2PM and distributed to retailers
soon after. Our cans will be sold for $4.50 single cans with a 1 case per person
limit (there are 24 cans in a case).
We will be opening from 1-2PM on Saturday just for Skillet Donut stout can
and The Crucifix Aged in Red Wine Barrels bottle sales ONLY. These sales
will take place at our back bar.
Our taproom will open at 2PM for draught beer sales and continued can and
bottle sales, if available.
We will have complimentary doughnuts made with a Skillet Donut Stout
glaze from vortex doughnuts during the pre-sale hour.
Skillet Donut Stout, a breakfast stout is made from a blend of nine barley
malts, a healthy scoop of oats, milk and molasses sugars, and our favorite
blend of freshly roasted Counter Culture Coffee beans. Welcome the day
with rich cocoa, smooth caramel, dark fruits and an abundance of diverse
coffee aroma.
Each can has two original illustrations by the ever so talented, David Paul
Seymour. Much like our name sake, the can artwork captures a “lightside”
and a “darkside” with powerful and unprecedented imagery.
Skillet Donut Stout cans will be sold in 16oz single cans at both our
taproom and select retailers. All of our beer has been pre-sold and we
anticipate the amount allocated to our taproom to sell quickly. We will be
brewing and canning skillet every 3-4 weeks. We have plans to can Scythe Rye
IPA and Bolo Coconut Brown this month and next.
We advise that consumers drink skillet donut stout fresh to get the most
out of the coffee aroma and flavor. Much like hops, coffee will dissipate
with time. fresh is best!
