Careers in Conservation scholarship awarded to Asheville native Julie Judkins

The NC Foundation for Soil and Water Conservation is pleased to announce that Julie Judkins of Asheville was awarded a 2014/15 Careers in Conservation Scholarship. Julie is attending Duke University Environmental Leadership School earning a Masters in Environmental Management. Julie was one of eleven scholarship recipients for the 2014/15 academic year. The Foundation offers a Careers in Conservation Scholarship to highly motivated students that are seeking a career in natural resource and environmental management or a closely related field that aligns with the mission of local Soil and Water Conservation Districts. Selected students are awarded up to $5,000 a year, with an option to renew in subsequent years. Eligible students are residents of North Carolina, attending a college or university in North Carolina full time, and have exhibited a record of academic excellence. The scholarship program is funded by generous donations from the Bowman family and other private donors.
