Asheville VA to host POW/MIA ceremony

CHARLES GEORGE VA MEDICAL CENTER, Asheville, N.C. – Join the Charles George Veterans Affairs Medical Center for a special POW/MIA Remembrance Ceremony on Friday, September 16, 2016, at 11 a.m. to honor all former American prisoners of war, those still missing in action and their families who have endured uncommon sacrifices on behalf of the country. 

The ceremony will take place at the Warriors Cairn in front of the medical center up the hill from the Mental Health facility. The pledge of allegiance will be led by for former POW and Bataan Death March survivor Wayne Carringer and will include an empty chair ceremony.  Veterans, family members and the community are invited.
