One way to help prepare students for school success is by making sure they have the proper tools and supplies. This is why the School Supply Drive, hosted by the United Way and their community partners, is so vital for making sure all of our students are equipped. With the help of this drive, we are able to distribute 200+ filled back-packs to local students!
Another way to help close the achievement gap is by connecting caring adults as volunteer tutors with local children who need that extra bit of academic attention. Do you have an hour a week to help an elementary-age student improve their reading and math? Then click on the VOLUNTEER button at www.childrenfirstcisbc.org and sign up to be a tutor at one of our elementary schools or after-school learning centers.
