City of Hendersonville Seeking Applicants to Serve on Boards and Commissions
 
Hendersonville, NC (April 9, 2021) – Have you ever wanted to make a difference? Do you have experience and knowledge to share with your City? Do you want to have a voice in Hendersonville’s growth and future?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, consider serving on one of the 15 boards, commissions, and committees that advise the Mayor and City Council on a variety of issues.
 
Applications are due to the City Clerk Monday, May 3, 2021, by 5:00 p.m. for consideration by City Council at their May 6th meeting. 
 
Visit https://www.hendersonvillenc.gov and click on Boards & Commissions under the Government tab to access an application, additional information, and residency requirements for each advisory board.
 
The following groups currently have vacancies:
  • ABC Board – 1 vacancy
  • Animal Services Advisory Committee – 4 vacancies
  • Board of Adjustment – 1 City vacancy, 1 County ETJ (extraterritorial jurisdiction) vacancy
  • Business Advisory Committee – 2 vacancies
  • Downtown Advisory Board – 1 vacancy for MSD (Main Street District) Stakeholder and 2 vacancies for Members-At-Large
  • Environmental Sustainability Board – 4 vacancies
  • Housing Authority Board – Mayor Appointment – 1 vacancy
  • NEW: Diversity & Inclusion Committee AND Stormwater Advisory Committee – multiple vacancies
City Council is soliciting applicants and expects to officially form the Diversity & Inclusion Committee and Stormwater Advisory Committee later in 2021.
