City to hold dam improvement project information meeting tonight

Press release from city of Asheville:

The final session in a series of four City of Asheville public information meetings on the North Fork Dam improvement project will be held at 6:30 p.m. today (Aug. 25) at the Bee Tree Fire Station’s Community Room, 510 Bee Tree Road.

Join the City of Asheville Water Resources Department, area fire departments and consulting engineers to learn more about the North Fork Reservoir Spillway and Embankment Improvement Project. Staff and consultants will discuss the purpose of the project and how the City is proactively working to mitigate potential damage associated with flooding or earthquakes.

Meetings on this topic were held earlier this week in Biltmore Village, Haw Creek and at the Riceville Community Center.

We hope you can join us to learn more about this important project.
