ASHEVILLE – On Thursday, March 1, the City of Asheville will host a community meeting for the Lake Craig Flood Management-Azalea Road project. The meeting will be held from 4-7 p.m. at the RENCI at UNC Asheville office in downtown Asheville in the Grove Arcade at One Page Avenue, Suite 116. The open house event is free and open to the public.
The flood management project also includes water line installation to the John B. Lewis Soccer Complex as well as proposed roadway improvements on Azalea Road. The consultant team will be available to meet with the community, present the current project alternatives, identify potential impacts and discuss the project timeline. This is the second of three community meetings for the project. The first meeting was held on Nov. 4.
Parking is available in city parking garages or in metered spaces. City parking garages are located on Otis Street (Wall Street Parking Garage), Haywood Street (Civic Center Parking Garage) and Rankin Avenue (Rankin Parking Garage).
