Culinary magazine Saveur spotlights five Asheville breweries, dubs city ‘undisputed king of southern craft beer’

Justin Kennedy of culinary magazine Saveur featured Asheville in an article published Tuesday, March 3, calling the city “the undisputed king of southern craft beer.” The article, entitled, “The 5 Breweries You Must Visit in Asheville, NC” cited Burial Beer, Fonta Flora of Morganton, the Funkatorium, Green Man Brewery and the Wedge as testament to Western North Carolina’s quantity and quality of breweries.

Kennedy highlighted some of the city’s longstanding breweries and gave a nod to newer, experimental efforts and collaborative projects.

“In short, Asheville is a beer lover’s paradise,” wrote Kennedy.
