Cyclist dies following hit and run incident; APD seeks public’s help

Asheville Police are continuing to investigate a recent hit and run that claimed the life of the cyclist following the incident.

The cyclist, James Shearon (02/06/1995), succumbed to his injuries on March 8; next of kin has been notified.

Our hearts go out to the family of James Shearon. While mourning the loss of their son and brother, his family made the decision to honor his life by helping others. Two 4-year-old children and several adults will receive life-saving organ transplants as a result of this family’s compassion and kindness.
