Democrats announce Sylva rally for state and local candidates on Sept. 10

Press release:

Seven County Rally for Democratic State and Local Candidates, Saturday, September 10, Southwestern Community College, Burrell Building, 447 College Drive, Sylva, NC, 3-6 PM.

This is an excellent opportunity to hear and meet State and Local Democratic candidates in one place at one time.

If you are considering doing a comparison of candidates or providing information on the candidates, this event would give you a perfect opportunity to photograph and interview them.

3:00 PM Appalachian Music by Lee Knight
3:30 PM Local Area Candidates
4:00 PM Council of State and Judge Candidates
5:00 PM Refreshments, Meet & Greet

There will be candidate information, and buttons and bumper stickers available in the Lobby of Burrell. This is a free event, open to the public.

Local area candidates:
Jane Hipps, NC Senate District 50 – Joe Sam Queen, NC House of Representatives District 119 – Rick Bryson, US House of Representatives District 11 – Kim Carpenter, Judge for District Court 30 – Vicki Greene, Jackson County Commissioner – Mark Jones, Jackson County Commissioner.

Council of Sate candidates:
Linda Coleman, Lt. Governor – Josh Stein, Attorney General – Dan Blue III, State Treasurer — Beth Wood, State Auditor – Elaine Marshall, Secretary of State – June Atkinson, Superintendent of Public Instruction – Walter Smith, Commissioner of Agriculture – Charles Meeker, Commissioner of Labor – Wayne Goodwin, Commissioner of Insurance.

Judges:
Linda Stephens, Judge Court of Appeals Seat 3 – Margaret Eagles, Judge Court of Appeals Seat 5
