ARDEN, N.C. –Diamond Brand Outdoors announced today that its recent Spring Diva Night event generated $1,300 in proceeds for Girls On the Run of Western North Carolina.
Girls on the Run combines training for a 5K (3.1 mile) running event with healthy living education. The organization’s programs are designed to instill self-esteem through health education, life skills development, mentoring relationships, and physical training – all of which are accomplished through an active collaboration with girls and their parents, schools, volunteers, staff and the community. Girls on the Run currently serves a 14-county area that includes: Buncombe, Cherokee, Clay, Jackson, Graham, Haywood, Henderson, Macon, Madison, McDowell, Mitchell, Swain, Transylvania, and Yancey counties.
Diamond Brand’s Spring 2012 Diva Night event included delicious appetizers from four of Asheville’s top restaurants – the Corner Kitchen, Pack’s Tavern, Neo Cantina and Spruce Street Catering, and delectable desserts from local favorite, Blue Door Bakery! In addition to delighting their taste buds, Diva Night attendees enjoyed access to a free photo booth provided by WNC Photo Booth, live music by the fun duo Stereo Fidelics, and of course Diamond Brand’s one-of-a-kind Spring Fashion Show. This year’s Spring Fashion Show even featured two participants from Girls on the Run – Daphne Heines and Carleigh White (picture attached).
