Disney Institute Returns to Blue Ridge Community College May 3

Disney facilitators announced

What: A one-day course that allows participants to discover insights that drive the Disney organization and how to apply those in their own work. Participants will identify the personal and organizational values that drive them as a leader to carry out their organization’s vision. This course is beneficial to any leader, particularly those new to their role, interested in achieving leadership excellence through a personal journey that explores values alignment, communication strategies, and sustainment tools.

Tickets are $395 per person to attend this one-day professional development seminar entitled Disney’s Approach to Leadership Excellence, and include all course materials, lunch and parking. Who: Blue Ridge Community College’s Professional Development Institute is hosting Disney Institute for the third time.

Disney Institute facilitators Carmen L. Garcia and Katie Sanchez will lead the day-long program focused on business excellence.

Garcia joined Disney Institute in February 2001 and facilitates business programs and team building activities in both English and Spanish. In 2007, Garcia was selected as a Traditions facilitator at Disney University in addition to her role with Disney Institute. Garcia also led the Disney Leadership Excellence program to help high school youth develop leadership skills. In 2009, Garcia served in attractions and operations as guest service manager (GSM) in Fantasyland and in 2011 she transitioned to GSM at the Whispering Canyon Café in one of Walt Disney World’s premier resorts: The Wilderness Lodge.

Sanchez joined Disney Institute in 1996, designing and consulting business programs for Fortune 50 clients. In 1997, she left the company to pursue her training development passion as an external contract consultant. In 2000, Sanchez returned to The Walt Disney Company as a leadership development consultant at Disney’s Animal Kingdom at the Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. There she helped the team enhance organizational behavioral performance, drive business results, conduct in-depth needs assessments, and customize organizational development interventions to more than 250 operations leaders and their teams. Sanchez returned to Disney Institute in 2008.

Around 200 participants from regional and neighboring state’s businesses will be in attendance.

When: Wednesday, May 3 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
