Ensemble Stage, in Blowing Rock, opens Leonard Nimoy’s play “Vincent.” First thing first: yes, the playwright is indeed Nimoy of Spock fame. Check out a video of the actor/writer discussing his work, here: http://www.symphonyspace.org/event/7859/Theatre/leonard-nimoys-vincent.
The drama “begins a few short days after the death of Vincent Van Gogh, as rumors of his death are flying around Paris. As many dismiss the artist as a penniless madman, a frequenter of prostitutes, and a soon to be forgotten artist of trifling quality who took his own life in a moment of insanity, his brother Theo (Jean-Michel Richaud) tells his own version of the story in an attempt to set the record straight,” according to a synopsis.
Travis Wayne Boswell stars. Shows run Saturday, Sept. 28 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 29 at 5 p.m. Tickets are $19/$17 and available at http://www.ensemblestage.com/Box-Office.html
