ASHEVILLE, N.C. (May 12, 2023) — The Adventure Travel Trade Association™ (ATTA), the largest global network of adventure travel leaders, announced Asheville will be the 2024 host city for its annual conference, AdventureELEVATE North America, June 11-13, 2024.
“Asheville boasts a wide variety of active and outdoor adventures and is renowned for its vibrant arts, food, and craft beer scene,” shares ATTA’s Regional Director of North America, Russell Walters. “Asheville is the perfect match for what we want to offer our conference attendees.”
AdventureELEVATE is a three-day event drawing media, tour operators and thought leaders in the adventure travel community. Asheville is the first city in the Southeastern US to host the conference, in its 8th year. The ATTA estimates 350 delegates to attend next year’s conference.
“Explore Asheville is thrilled to bring this conference to our community. It’s a tremendous opportunity to showcase Asheville and the surrounding region to this influential audience, and inspire future quality visits,” said Vic Isley, President and CEO of Explore Asheville and the Buncombe County Tourism Development Authority. “There are a number of ways hosting AdventureELEVATE will benefit our community, including nearly $500,00 in direct spending in local businesses to professional development opportunities right here at home for our region’s outdoor businesses and adventure outfitters.”
Considered as one of the preeminent regionally-focused industry events for adventure travel professionals, AdventureELEVATE includes an active Day of Adventure followed by two days of inspiring speakers, intensive educational workshop sessions, and one-on-one networking opportunities. The adventure travel community will have the opportunity to experience first-hand some of the adventures that Asheville and Buncombe County have to offer.
