Film screening of “Merce Cunningham Dance Company: Robert Rauschenberg Collaborations,” March 6
The Black Mountain College Museum + Arts Center in downtown Asheville presents a FILM SCREENING on Thursday, March 6 at 7:30 pm of Merce Cunningham Dance Company: Robert Rauschenberg Collaborations. Three dances documented by filmmaker Charles Atlas (Suite for Five, Summerspace & Interscape) illuminate the fruitful collaborations between Merce Cunningham, Robert Rauschenberg & John Cage, three major American artists in their respective fields of dance, visual art & music, all of whom spent significant time at Black Mountain College.
Admission is $8 / $5 for BMCM+AC members & students w/ID.
This evening of film is presented in conjunction with the exhibition Cynthia Homire: Vision Quest which received support from The Beattie Foundation and the North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the Department of Cultural Resources, with funding from the National Endowment for the Arts.
