Announcement from Francesco Lombardo:

On April 16th, 2016 I’ll be offering a figure drawing workshop in Marshall, NC  at 115 Blannahassett Island.
All skill levels are welcome to attend. We will have three or more live models to draw from, both male and female.
We will draw from 10:00AM to 7:00PM!  Though everyone is welcome to come around 9:00 to set up and get coffee/cookies.
I’ll will start the day at 10AM with an introduction covering our chosen materials, how to use them, and how to tone handmade paper
with raw pigment to act as a drawing surface. Then I’ll take everyone through a demonstration of what the initial stages of a drawing
should consist of, mainly the “block-in”. Next, I’ll start everyone off on their own drawing, helping them along as they begin, while
demonstrating the upcoming stages of rendering, shading, and cross-hatching that each attendee will go through durring the process of
completing their drawing.
We’ll take an hour break for lunch which can either be purchased in town (Marshall) or brought along. The full price for the
workshop is $75, which includes all the materials.  Everyone attending is encouraged to bring an easel or drawing support, but this
is not mandatory. Most of all everyone should feel comfortable coming to the workshop with no prior practice or skills, but if they would like
to get some drawing time in beforehand, I’ve made a short video that narrates and highlights several important techniques.
