FreeBody Trigger Point Massage Clinic opens in West Asheville

Local business owner and massage therapist Cat Matlock announced that she has opened a new Trigger Point Massage Clinic in West Asheville. Cat Matlock has been a licensed massage therapist since 1993, devoting her career to helping people release tension and pain in their bodies with a highly effective approach the clinical massage. Cat also runs the West Asheville Yoga Studio (opened 2006) and instructs people how to use balls and foam rollers for self myofascial release (SMR) and trigger point work on their own at home.

Cat has now opened Asheville’s first dedicated Trigger Point Therapy massage clinic at 619 Haywood Road, West Asheville.  She has five apprentices studying this work under her guidance.

Here is what we are offering to the community:

  • Private sessions using trigger point release work with Cat Matlock and her apprentices (all licensed massage therapists taking this course as advanced training)
  • Low-cost community clinic days as the apprentices finish different modules of the training.  The first clinic will be in September and will focus on neck work.
  • Group self-care classes for specific issues or problem areas such as headaches, sciatica, shoulder/rotator cuff, etc 
  • Continuing Education, apprenticeships/advanced training for massage therapists (LMBTs)
  • Group courses or private sessions in anxiety and stress reduction, Overcome Anxiety™ method
  • Classroom rental for other instructors, groups, etc
