Friday Services offers temp work for furloughed federal workers

Press release from Friday Services:

With the partial government shutdown rounding out week five, many federal workers have been without a paycheck for over a month, including thousands in North Carolina alone. This is why Friday Services, a Western North Carolina-based employment agency, has stepped up to offer work for those affected by the government shutdown.

“As a strong community partner, we would like to extend a helping hand to those who have been burdened by the shutdown,” said Deborah Pressley, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Friday Services. “It is our responsibility to help our community during this difficult time.”

Friday Services is collaborating with several of their clients to open up specific positions to help these furloughed employees. Jobs will be in the industrial and clerical fields in Asheville, Morganton, Hendersonville, Flat Rock, Fletcher, Arden, and surrounding areas of WNC.

For these special positions, Friday Services will work out quick-turnaround payments, with rates starting at $13 an hour and up.

“If we can help lessen the burden until employees are able to return to their normal life, we would like to do so,” Pressley said.

Applicants can call Friday Services’ Asheville/Arden location at 828-684-8700 or Morganton location at 828-437-4200. Federal IDs are required upon interview.
