Gannett: Printing of Asheville Citizen-Times will move April 1

Gannett Corp. announced Friday it has reached an agreement with Halifax Media Group to print the Asheville Citizen-Times and The Greenville News at Halifax printing facilities in Spartanburg, S.C., and Gastonia around April 1, 2014.

The two newspapers are currently printed at The Greenville News Media Group facility in Greenville.

Gannett, the parent of The Greenville News Media Group, also announced that the Greenville printing and distribution facility will close, affecting about 42 full-time and 75 part-time positions.
