Greenlife & Whole Foods announce results of Asheville on Bikes’ 5% Day

On Tuesday, Dec. 16, Greenlife Grocery and Whole Foods Asheville supported Asheville on Bikes (AoB) with 5% Day. Each of the stores donated 5% of net sales to Asheville on Bikes and earned AoB $5,647.95

“We’ve got big goals for ‘15 and this is a great way to end the year. AoB is excited to work with Whole Foods Market and Greenlife moving forward. As we build a better bike city, we need partners of every kind. It’s good to know that Whole Foods Market and Greenlife support us. Success is about partnerships.” says AoB’s director Mike Sule.

“We chose Asheville on Bikes because we are advocates of the cycling culture and our missions align. AoB and Whole Foods adamantly support a healthy, vibrant city, and environmental sustainability. We strive not only to be ‘America’s healthiest grocery store,’ but to care about the environment and give back to our local communities. Our organizations share these values,” says Laurie Powell marketing team leader of Greenlife.

Four times a year, Whole Foods Market holds a community giving day where five percent of that day’s net sales are donated to a local nonprofit organization. This quarter, Asheville’s Whole Foods Market and Greenlife Grocery are joining forces to do a multi-store community giving day.
