Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River Casino and Hotel, still under construction, will have space for 800 new employees at the remodeled facility — and on March 16, the casino resort will host a job fair looking for candidates.
More from Harrah’s:
As Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River Casino & Hotel continues with construction, recruiters are kicking off a spring hiring campaign to start filling the more than 800 positions that are required before opening later this year.
Due to the sixteen-week training periods, required for certain positions, the first job fair for the Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River property will be focused on hiring 270 table games dealers and approximately 30 surveillance officers. Recruiters will be at Tri-County Community College (TCCC) in Murphy, N.C. on Monday, March 16th from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Enloe Building.
“The Table Games Department will make up about 30 percent of our employee base. Table games dealers are one of the most highly compensated front-line positions in the gaming industry, often earning $30,000-$50,000 annually, based on tips,” Lumpy Lambert, Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River Casino & Hotel’s General Manager, said. “Full time dealer positions are highly competitive based on pay and our generous benefits package. We are looking for applicants who have an upbeat and positive attitude and willingness to entertain our guests.”
Training for the Surveillance Department will begin this spring at Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort in Cherokee, N.C.
Dealers hired at the March 16 job fair will be paid to attend Dealer Training School in April, May, or July this year at which training for Blackjack and one or more specialty games will begin. After completion of the training program and successfully passing an audition, dealers may work at Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort in Cherokee until opening of the Valley River property later this year.
