Haywood Community College offers free seminar on business finance

The Small Business Center at Haywood Community College will offer a free seminar titled, “Financing Your Business,” Thursday, September 6, 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the College’s Regional High Technology Center in room 3021.

Financing continues to be a challenge for many small business owners. Questions covered in this seminar will include: who will give me money for my business idea and what do they need from me; how will this business make money and will it be enough to pay back a loan or attract an investor?

Get to the heart of business financing in this seminar that answers these questions. Participants will explore the advantages and disadvantages of the different types of funding sources and how to choose the right one for individual needs. “Financing Your Business” will help attendees discover the keys to financing success.

“Financing Your Business” is part of the Business Startup Series. Geared toward early stage entrepreneurs and those looking to start a business, the free series is comprised of the top eight pillars critical to the successful foundation of a business. The sessions will feature industry experts to walk you through each topic in detail. Attendees are welcome to attend a single session of interest or the entire series.

“Basics of Bookkeeping” will be held Tuesday, September 11, 6-9:00 p.m.

“Marketing Your Business” will be held Tuesday, September 18, 5:30-8:30 p.m.

“Choosing Your Small Business Legal Structure” will be held Tuesday, October 2, 5-7 p.m.

“How to Find Your Customers” will be held Tuesday, October 23, 6-9 p.m.

“Your Small Business Taxes” will be held Tuesday, November 6, 11a.m.-1 p.m.
