James Guerriere, MD, a pediatrician with the Mountain Pediatric Group, will be presenting the Dinner with a Doc seminar “First Aid Every Parent Should Know” on Thursday April 21st, 2016 at 6pm at the Haywood Regional Health and Fitness Center.  Dr. Guerriere will speak while patrons enjoy a healthy meal. Afterward, he will circulate to visit with guests and answer questions. To attend this complimentary dinner seminar, call 800.424.DOCS (3627).  Childcare will be available for a nominal fee.

Topics to be covered include:  Hands only CPR basics and why to learn more; stings and bug bites; allergic reactions and Epi-pens; head bumps: what the doctors know and why we avoid CT scans; cuts, lacerations and when do you need stitches or a plastic surgeon; burns and sunburns; fever: treatment and misconceptions.

Dr. James Guerriere joined Mountain Pediatric Group in September of 2015. Dr. James Guerriere is a graduate of University of South Carolina School of Medicine and completed his Pediatric residency at the University of South Alabama Children’s Hospital. He is certified by the American Heart Association in NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) as well as PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support).  Mountain Pediatric Group is located in Clyde at exit 105 behind Coffee Cup Café and offers the full range of pediatric services including care from birth to age 18, well child checks, sick visits, immunizations, ADHD, sports physicals, newborn nursery coverage, antepartum visits, and middle school/high school sports coverage with Western Carolina Orthopaedics. Watch for additional “Dinner with the Doc” seminars this year on topics including Pediatrics, Family Wellness, Women’s Health, Men’s Health, Spine Issues, Joint Replacement, Senior Heath and Elder Care, Breast Cancer and Lung Cancer.  Seminars typically occur on the 3rd Thursday of the month approximately 10 times a year. Dinner begins at 6:00 pm and the seminar starts shortly after. Our programs feature a variety of healthcare providers speaking on health topics of interest to you!
