Henderson County Health Department debuts vaccine dashboard

Press release from the Henderson County Health Department:

The Henderson County Department of Public Health has added a weekly Vaccine Update to the general vaccine page. This will help the public see data on the Health Department’s overall vaccination campaign as well as progress on the Vaccine Waitlist.

This will be updated weekly each Tuesday afternoon. For the latest county-wide numbers on vaccines administered by all providers please continue to refer to the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services Vaccine Dashboard:https://covid19.ncdhhs.gov/dashboard/vaccinations

This is a breakdown of the data points:

Doses administered by the Health Department: This figure includes all vaccines administered by the Health Department, including before the waitlist was launched on Jan. 27.

Henderson County residents vaccinated as a whole: This figure will reflect Henderson County’s numbers on theNCDHHS Vaccine Dashboard at the time of the update. See the NCDHHS Dashboard for the latest numbers.

First doses received by the Health Department: Weekly first dose allotment to the Health Department only. This does not include allotments received by other providers in the county. This is also the same number of first dose appointments we expect to make each week.

Total number registered on vaccine waitlist: This the total running tally of everyone who has registered since the waitlist launched, including those who have received an appointment and vaccination.

Waitlist ID Numbers Staging for Appointment: The waitlist operates similarly to a “take-a-number” system. Those who choose to enter their email address when they register receive a confirmation ID number. This number remains the same as the Call Center works through the list. Individuals within the indicated staging range each week can expect a call from the Call Center. Those who did not submit an email address are still assigned a number and will be contacted when their turn comes.

Anyone below the listed ID number should either expect to be contacted that week for an appointment or have already received an appointment during a prior week. The Call Center makes two attempts to call an individual for an appointment. If a person cannot be reached, staff will continue working through the waitlist to make appointments and will try again the next time supply is available. This makes it difficult to provide both a minimum and maximum ID range we expect to call each week.

We are working to vaccine everyone on the waitlist as quickly as possible, but supply remains limited. We ask those on the waitlist to help us with the following:

  • If you are registered on the waitlist please be patient. There is no action you need to take until you are called. The Call Center will contact you when it’s your turn for an appointment. We continue to stress that vaccine allotments remain extremely limited. The rate we are able to work through our waitlist will depend on the allotments we receive from the state.
  • Please answer the phone if you see “COVID CC” or the phone number 828-585-4700.
  • Please do not sign up for the waitlist multiple times. This ultimately does nothing but slow down the Call Center’s ability to move through the waitlist. The first entry will be the first called.
  • Please do not call the Health Department to check where you are in line and instead refer to the Vaccine Update. If your ID number is above the number range listed please continue to be patient as we work through the waitlist.
