From press release:
The bears are ready to take their places back on the sidewalks of downtown Hendersonville!
On May 9th, at the First Citizens Bank Plaza on the corner of 6th Ave & Main Street, the 13 bears of 2013 will be revealed.
Each bear will be introduced by the local artists and sponsors who collaborated on the design and production of each one.
The public will then have a chance to welcome them face-to-face. Entertainment begins at 4:30 with the musical styling’s of Marc Yaxley, a fabulous guitarist who is sure to brighten up our afternoon.
The bears will take their places throughout the district following the Reveal and will be in place through October when the Bearfootin’ Art Auction takes place.
The Bearfootin’ Public Art Walk, which debuted in 2003, has consistently brought joy to visitors of Historic Downtown Hendersonville while raising a considerable amount of money for local charities and art in Historic Downtown.
Funds from last year’s auction have helped facilitate the artist selection process that eventually resulted in the creation of “Mountain Memory,” the soon to be completed fountain at the corner of 6th & Main Street.
We hope you’ll join us to welcome our newest bears to Main in a space that they’ve helped create.
