Hendersonville United Federal Credit Union to host free seminar on social security retirement benefits, Oct. 20

HENDERSONVILLE, North Carolina – United Investment Planning (UIP), the investment arm of United Federal Credit Union (UFCU), is providing a complimentary seminar on social security retirement benefits on Tuesday, October 20, 2015. The session will take place at 5:30 p.m. at the UFCU branch at 101 Jack Street, Hendersonville, North Carolina.

Eric Freeman, financial advisor, CUSO Financial Services, L.P., will lead the seminar.

“One of the biggest financial decisions people make is when to start receiving social security benefits,” Freeman says. “It is important to know your options so you can make the decision that is right for you.”

The seminar will cover:
• What the full retirement age is and how benefits are determined
• How retiring earlier than, or later than, full retirement age affects social security benefits
• Why it’s important for couples to plan strategies to boost retirement and survivor’s benefits
• How working while receiving social security could affect the amount received.
