Hendersonville high school basketball player scores 1000th point

From the Times-News:

The five seniors started the game and the five juniors closed it up for Hendersonville on Senior Night as the Bearcats put a strong finish to a rough start against Polk County on Tuesday night at Jim Pardue Gymnasium to make their record 20-0 with a 78-50 win.

Senior Sam Wilkins needed just 14 points to reach his 1,000th career point, and after sinking a 3 in the fourth quarter, Coach Marvin Featherstone stopped the game to recognize Wilkins’ accomplishment. He finished the game with a team-high 18 points and six rebounds.
