High Country Small Plate Crawl features five days of food

From High Country Small Plate Crawl:

Enjoy five days of special small plate menus in Boone, Blowing Rock and Valle Crucis, NC, Wednesday, Jan. 21 through Sunday, Jan. 25, during breakfast – dinner hours (times vary by restaurant), with the 2015 High Country Small Plate Crawl and Winterfest.

Chefs from over 20 area restaurants will be showcasing their cuisine and talent. View interactive and printable maps of restaurant locations, and especially take a look at menu offerings from the various participating restaurants to whet your appetite.

For the occasion, participating restaurants each have several special and delicious offerings on their small plate menus ranging in price from $3 to $8. A sample $3 small plate menu offering by Char is “Summer Bruschetta: Crostini layered with blackberries, arugula, goat cheese & mint with a balsamic reduction”. From The Table at Crestwood Resort & Spa for $6, ” Fried Duck Legs – Tossed in Blackberry BBQ Sauce and Chopped Pecans with Mint Ranch”. From Town Tavern, at $5, ” 4 Ribeye Philly Sliders w/FF – Delicious, tender & lean, chopped ribeye steak and premium melted white American cheese on an Italian roll with or without peppers, onions and jalapenos served with a side of fries!”, and a $2.39 option from the Sunrise Grill, “Cranberry Walnut French Toast – Four Wedges of their Famous artisan Cranberry Walnut bread on top of a delicious drizzling of raspberry coulee garnished with a fresh, delicious, fanned strawberry”.
Get your Passport and join in on the fun. Print a Passport at PlateCrawl.com/Passport. A Passport is not required, but includes details such as addresses and hours of participation for all restaurants. Maps are also on the website.

NEW – Scan QR Codes with mobile devices instead of gathering punches on the Passport to enter the prize drawing! It’s fast, easy, and accurate. Register the first time you scan a code during the event or ahead of the event at ChekTrek.com.

Servers will present you with a QR Code to scan for validation when paying at each restaurant. Free QR Code applications are available for download. We recommend “QR Code Reader” by Scan, Inc.

If you don’t have access to a mobile device, ask for a “Takeaway Card” at each restaurant. Just enter the unique code on each card later on a computer.

You’re automatically entered into the prize drawing every time you scan a QR Code or enter a Code manually. Prizes will be listed on the Crawl website. Winners will be contacted by email.

Include a restaurant outside of downtown Boone or Blowing Rock to double your prize winning chances! Qualifying restaurants will be indicated on the Passport.

This is a rain-or-shine event. Small plates taste just as great no matter what the weather. Come hungry!
