Heading north next week? The High Country Plate Crawl offers a chance to sample great Boone, Blowing Rock and Valle Crucis restaurants for lunch and dinner from Tuesday, Sept. 4, to Thursday, Sept. 6. Carolina Epicurean co-presents the event. See their press release below for details:
Enjoy three days of special small plate menus next week in Boone, Blowing Rock and Valle Crucis. Tuesday September 4th through Thursday September 6th, lunch-time through dinner-time (times vary by restaurant), with the first ever High Country Small Plate Crawl.
Chefs from 15 area restaurants will be showcasing their cuisine and talent. View interactive and printable maps (http://PlateCrawl.com/maps ) of restaurant locations, and especially take a look at menu (http://platecrawl.com/restaurants) offerings from the various participating restaurants to get your appetite ready.
For the occasion, participating restaurants each have several special and delicious offerings on their small plate menus ranging in price from $3 to $8. A sample $3 small plate menu offering by Char is ” Summer Bruschetta: Crostini layered with blackberries, arugula, goat cheese & mint with a balsamic reduction.” From The Table at Crestwood Resort & Spa for $6, ” Fried Duck Legs – Tossed in Blackberry BBQ Sauce and Chopped Pecans with Mint Ranch.” From Town Tavern, at $5, ” 4 Ribeye Philly Sliders w/FF – Delicious, tender & lean, chopped ribeye steak and premium melted white American cheese on an Italian roll with or without peppers, onions and jalapenos served with a side of fries,” and a $2.39 option from the Sunrise Grill, “Cranberry Walnut French Toast – Four Wedges of their Famous artisan Cranberry Walnut bread on top of a delicious drizzling of raspberry coulee garnished with a fresh, delicious, fanned strawberry.”
Get your Passport and join in on the fun! It’s not required, but is needed to enter the prize drawing. Prizes are listed on the Crawl website. Present the Passport when purchasing Small Plates for validation. Buy a Small Plate at 5 or more restaurants to qualify for a prize drawing.
Include a Valle Crucis or Blowing Rock restaurant in the “5 or more” to double your prize winning chances (Passport entered into drawing twice)! Qualifying restaurants are indicated on the Passport. Drop the completed Passport off at any participating restaurant when you’re done crawling. Winners will be contacted by email.
Nonperishable food will be collected at each restaurant during the Crawl for the nonprofit Hunger and Health Coalition
Come hungry! This is a rain-or-shine event. Small plates taste just as great no matter what the weather.
