Hometown bank celebrates eighth decade of community commitment with 80 hours of service initiative

Press release from Asheville Savings Bank:

Asheville Savings Bank (ASB) is celebrating 80 years of serving the financial needs of Western North Carolina residents. Founded in 1936 and headquartered in Asheville, ASB has a total of 13 area banking centers located in the counties of Buncombe, Henderson, McDowell, Madison and Transylvania. ASB’s goal is to help the local community thrive by providing superior financial services with honesty and integrity.

“We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our valued customers for their continued support over the past 80 wonderful years,” said Suzanne DeFerie, President and CEO of Asheville Savings Bank. “At ASB, we take pride in the fact that we’ve always stayed true to our core values – delivering a higher standard of service, always doing the right thing, and supporting our local community with our time, expertise and financial resources. We are proud to be the local bank. Proud that our dollars stay local to help our friends, neighbors and businesses prosper.”

As tribute to its anniversary and part of its focus and dedication to Western N.C., ASB has pledged to complete an additional 80 hours of community service in the months of October and November – one extra hour for every year of service. These service hours are supplementary to the hundreds of hours ASB team members already give to the local community each month.

Since the very beginning, ASB has aspired to make an impact where it matters most – locally – where their customers and employees all live, work and play. In addition to time, ASB gives back financially and contributes funds to over 100 local organizations each year.

To commemorate this prestigious milestone, ASB will also host celebration events for customers at three of its banking centers complete with food, drinks and musical entertainment. The events will take place at the following locations:

· Downtown Asheville Banking Center – Tuesday, October 4th – 5:00pm to 7:00pm
· Marion Banking Center – Tuesday, October 11th – 5:00pm to 7:00pm
· Hendersonville Banking Center – Thursday, October 20th – 5:00pm to 7:00pm
