HT-N: Three local hospitals rated among safest

A recent ranking by Consumer Reports says one of the safest hospitals in the nation and three of the safest in the state can be found right here in Western North Carolina.

The Hendersonville Times-News reported Thursday that Pardee Hospital was named the seventh safest hospital in the United States and the safest in North Carolina.

Park Ridge Health and Mission Health were second and third safest in the state, respectively.

The report compiled information from the most recent data available from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and independent sources on 1,159 hospitals in 44 states. Consumer Reports also interviewed patients, physicians, hospital administrators and safety experts, as well as reviewed medical literature and looked at hospital inspections and investigations.
