Former Hendersonville doctor assisting in Ebola outbreak

A former Hendersonville doctor is leading a medical team fighting the outbreak of the Ebola virus in West Africa.
Dr. Lance Plyler is the leader of the disaster response team sent by the international relief organization Samaritan’s Purse to battle the virus in Liberia.
“He thrives on that kind of work,” said Mark Hunnicutt, an associate pastor at Mud Creek Baptist Church. “Somebody has to represent hope and help. He’s that light and that help.”
