“From Shiraz to Shiraz” takes place on Tuesday Sept. 30, 6:30 PM at Metro Wines (169 Charlotte St.). The free wine-tasting of Shiraz wines is preceded with a talk by Steve Kutay. The world-traveler will detail his recent trip to Iran, which included the famous city of Shiraz and the site of Persepolis. According to Kutay, the single biggest surprise of the trip was how much the Iranian people truly love Americans.
Kutay is the owner of a recently launched Asheville business, Iran Luxury Travel, which offers private, 1st-class tours for 2 people at a lower cost than most group tours. Although the company is not a non-profit, it operates on a very low profit margin since the founders value the promotion peace and understanding between the United States and Iran.
