Press release from the Blue Ridge Humane Society:

Area putt-putt enthusiasts of all ages will have the opportunity to take their miniature golf skills to the green in benefit of the Blue Ridge Humane Society. On Saturday, June 8, 2019 the Blue Ridge Humane Society is hosting the inaugural Hendersonville Putt-Putt Open at the Champions Golf Learning Center on Brookside Camp Road.

With something for everyone, tournament categories include youth with 12 and Under and 13+ divisions starting at 9 a.m.; the Family category teeing off at 11:30 a.m.; and the Open category with a 2 p.m. start. The Open category will also host business teams in pursuit of the Community Cup award for the best finishing business team. Each category is limited to the first 20 teams to register with awards for the top three teams. There will be ongoing games and activities all day including closet to the pin, hole in one, corn hole, adoptable animals to visit, and more!

Entry fees range from $35-$55 per person, or $140-$220 for a team of four and include lunch and other giveaways throughout the day. All proceeds help provide care for animals in the Blue Ridge Humane Adoption Center as they wait for adoption. Individuals and teams can register at https://www.blueridgehumane.org/get-involved/fundraising-events/golf/.

The Champions Golf Learning Center has hosted the 2015 and 2018 US Open Pro Mini Golf Championships on their 18-hole miniature golf course that offers fun for kids of all ages while also challenging more serious players. The course and additional facilities make it the perfect venue for the Hendersonville Putt-Putt Open.

“We are excited to bring a new activity to Hendersonville that allows the community to have fun in the name of supporting animals” says Angela Prodrick, Executive Director of Blue Ridge Humane.

“Every year Blue Ridge Humane Society provides compassionate care and protection to hundreds of homeless pets.  However, we are only as successful as the support we receive from our wonderful community. Events like this are vital to helping us save more lives.”

The event is sponsored by Horizon Heating & Air Conditioning, Carolina Alliance Bank, United Community Bank, and Brock & Associates. If interested in participating or providing a sponsorship please contact Laura Rice, Development & Events Manager at (828) 692-2639 or lrice@blueridgehumane.org.
