Asheville City government offices will be closed Monday, May 27, in observance of the Memorial Day holiday.
Though City offices will be closed, Sanitation services will run on schedule. Trash and recycling will be collected as normal on May 27. The Sanitation Division will not collect brush on Memorial Day.
ART bus service
The City of Asheville ART service routes and facilities will operate on a reduced holiday schedule May 27. Memorial Day is one of six days throughout the calendar year that ART offers holiday bus service. For route info, visit RideTheART.com. Memorial Day Ceremony
The City of Asheville and Buncombe County will host a Memorial Day Ceremony at 2:30 p.m. May 27 at the Bascom Lamar Lunsford Stage, Roger McGuire Green in Pack Square Park. Asheville Mayor Esther Manheimer and Buncombe County Board of Commissioners Chairman Brownie Newman will participate in a Recognition of Service. Parks and pools
All City of Asheville Parks & Recreation Department recreation centers will be closed Memorial Day. The following specialized recreation facilities will be open: City parks, the Riverside Cemetery, Asheville Golf Course, Asheville Skate Park, Aston Park Tennis Center and the Western North Carolina Nature Center.
The Splasheville spray fountain in Pack Square Park will be open Saturday and Sunday but closed on Memorial Day, because of the Memorial Day Ceremony.

U.S. Cellular Center
The U.S. Cellular Center will be closed on Memorial Day, May 27. Ticket purchases can still be made through TicketMaster.
Emergency response and water-related issues
Water Resources staff will be available for water-related emergencies 24 hours a day over the holiday weekend. Customers can call the customer service line at 828-251-1122 to report water related emergencies, leaks, breaks, and no-water calls.
All public safety services, including police, fire and emergency response, will operate according to normal schedule — 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The City of Hendersonville government offices will be closed on Monday, May 27, 2019 in observance of Memorial Day.
Garbage, Recycling and Brush Collection will be operating on a regular schedule. For water/sewer issues occurring on May 27, please use the afterhours number at (828) 891-7779.
On Saturday, May 25, and Sunday, May 26, Garden Jubilee will be held in downtown Hendersonville. This event includes street closures which will begin on Friday, May 24, at 5 p.m. Main Street will be closed to traffic at that time between Caswell and 6th Avenue. This portion of Main Street will be closed through Sunday, May 26, at approximately 8 p.m. City of Hendersonville Public Works will reopen the street following cleaning that evening.
Pets are not permitted at this event and attendees are asked to leave animals comfortably at home.

Press release from Buncombe County:
Buncombe County Government offices and libraries will be closed on Monday, May 27, for Memorial Day. The Landfill and Transfer Station will be open regular hours on Monday, May 27, and Waste Pro Services will be operating on a regular schedule.
Also, the Buncombe County Sports Park is closed to vehicles Friday-Saturday, May 25-26, for the Mountain Disc Golf Experience tournament. Pedestrian access is still available with parking at the upper lot on 24 Apac Circle. Hominy Valley Park is located 3.9 miles away on 25 Twin Lakes Dr. and features a playground, picnic areas with grills, and an outdoor swimming pool. All of our other parks are open regular hours. Pools are only open on Saturday and Sunday until the end of school.
Buncombe County and the City of Asheville will be holding a Memorial Day ceremony on Monday, May 27, at 2:30 p.m. at Pack Square Park. More details are available here.
