Local groups co-sponsor rally as part of Nationwide Day of Action

Press release from Poor People’s Campaign:

ASHEVILLE, NC (March 21, 2025) – More than 1,500 people already have signed up to attend tomorrow’s rally, sponsored locally by Good Trouble WNCIndivisible Asheville/WNC and the NC Poor People’s Campaign.  co-sponsor The rally, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., is in cooperation with the national group fiftyfifty.one and will be held at the Amphitheater in Pack Square Park, downtown.

The event is part of a Nationwide Day of Action and features local speakers, including veterans’ rights spokesmen Jay Carey and Will Nugent, plus speakers on Social Security, climate and health care.  Musical performers include the Asheville Gay Men’s Chorus and Womansong of Asheville. Other participating organizations include La Milpa, Sunrise Movement WNC, Asheville Food and Beverage Union, Third Act and the NC Workers Party.

All who support our constitutional democracy are encouraged to attend.
