Lowering of North Carolina state flag in tribute to Rep. Larry Brown

Gov. Bev Perdue today ordered all North Carolina state flags on state facilities to be lowered immediately to half staff in tribute to Rep. Larry Brown of Forsyth County, who passed early this morning after suffering a heart attack. He represented his district for four terms in the N.C. House of Representatives.

Flags should be returned to full staff at sunset on Friday. Rep. Brown previously served as a Kernersville alderman and mayor. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he was retired from the U.S. Postal Service and worked as a real estate broker.
