Manheimer presents Hispanic Heritage Month proclamation to Children First/ CIS

Children First/Communities In Schools of Buncombe County

Each year, Americans observe National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15, by celebrating the histories, cultures and contributions of people from Latin American countries. Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month at the Fiesta Latina on October 11 at Pack Place Park and visit the Mi Historia exhibit at UNCA Highsmith Student Union. Mayor Esther Manheimer presented a Proclamation naming September 15-October 15 Hispanic Heritage Month at the September 23 City Council meeting.

The proclamation was accepted by Children First/CIS Latino Outreach Coordinator, Norma Brown and Asheville Latin Americans for Advancement Society representative, Esther Chavez.
