Here’s an excerpt from the Asheville Citizen-Times column by Jon Ostendorff:
Incumbent Republican U.S. Rep. Patrick McHenry won the money race in the 10th District, largely thanks to donations from corporations and bankers.
He raised $196,256 in the first quarter, according to a report with the Federal Election Commission.
He got $86,636 from groups including Walmart, McDonald’s, hospital and medical groups and the American Bankers Association. The rest came from individuals. He had $34,7991 on hand.
