Press release from Carl Mumpower:
City authorities have denied our request for a copy (in part or whole) of the Special Event Plan for the Trump rally, affirmation or denial that state law was applicable to this event, and a request for information and/or minutes of a pre-meeting between a city attorney, city administrator, police command staff and others on the day of the event. As a final step before seeking judicial redress, we wanted to appeal to the city one last time – and offer a reward…October 12, 2016Dear Mr. Farmer:In follow-up to yesterday’s request for additional information – and as a precursor to seeking judicial review of our denied requests – we wanted to appeal one more time for the following information:1) A copy or other form of access to parts of the Trump rally Special Event Plan not directly related to executive protection.2) Acknowledgement or denial (per your position on the invalid nature of local ordinances as applicable to events at the Trump rally) on the bearing/authority of NC Statute – “§ 14-288.4. Disorderly conduct. (a) Disorderly conduct is a public disturbance intentionally caused by any person who does any of the following: (1) Engages in fighting or other violent conduct or in conduct creating the threat of imminent fighting or other violence. (2) Makes or uses any utterance, gesture, display or abusive language which is intended and plainly likely to provoke violent retaliation and thereby cause a breach of the peace.” – as a state law enforceable by city authorities.3) Affirmation/denial of a pre-event meeting held on or about September 12th, 2016 (attended by a city attorney, city administrator, police command staff, and/or others) and/or minutes of that meeting. We are seeking this public information per the parameters of NC Statute § 132-9 – Access to records.Thank you for your assistance.Chad Nesbitt, Carl MumpowerOur police were paralyzed during this event. We want to find out why. In the absence of investigative reporting by mainstream media outlets, whistle blowing is a viable way to hold public officials to honest standards. We’re offering a reward of $1,000 to anyone who can provide us tangible evidence of unlawful activity by city officials in relationship to the Trump rally – or $500 to anyone who can just inform us of which city officials overstepped their function and broke the law. Our source and the reward will be kept in confidence.
Put up or shut up. Who is your attorney that is going to handle this “lawsuit” ? This is just another attempt to get press coverage. If you are “threatening legal action against the City ” then who is actually going to represent you ? The City and no one else except the media is going to take any of this seriously until you have obtained legal representation or announce that no qualified attorney will touch this case so you are doing it Pro Se [If you do not know what that means look it up].http://mountainx.com/opinion/letter-writer-lawsuit-over-trump-rally-doesnt-stand-a-chance/
I would say that it was the Trump radioed earred squad running around screaming at people that were the true
cause of the madness and edginess in the crowd. They were barking at people left and right, especially right before the
event actually started inside! I had a blast mocking them, much to the delight of the silly clueless protesters…
yes I want to know who their lawyer is, because I’m looking for one to go up against city council soon. …
anyone know of a good conservative lawyer who would have the guts to defend Asheville taxpayers ?
