NC Museum of History offers travel grants for public schools

Press release from North Carolina Museum of History:

Did someone say, “Field Trip”? Oh right, it was us!

The North Carolina Museum of History announces that travel grants will be available to North Carolina public schools this fall to help cover part of transportation costs to the museum in Raleigh. Your North Carolina school may qualify. Title I public schools, Title VII American Indian schools, and other schools with a high percentage of low-income or at-risk students have priority. The travel grants are made possible by a gift from the Museum of History Associates (MOHA), with partial funding provided by Duke Energy Foundation.

Last year’s travel grant program awarded a total of $55,000 amongst 55 schools in North Carolina. The 55 schools represented 5,277 students from 37 counties across the state.

Easier than ever, our application process takes place online between Thursday, July 12 and Friday, September 14, 2018.

To apply for a travel grant, please visit http://ncmuseumofhistory.org/travel-grants. Any questions can be sent to Chelsea Weger at chelsea.weger@ncdcr.gov. All applications must be received by Friday, September 14, 2018.
