Several members of the Asheville Fire Department, along with the Hot Springs fire department and the Guardian LEMC motorcycle group, have gone to Raleigh, to attend the NC Fallen FF Memorial Service. APD escorted the convoy from fire station 2, located at 415 South French Broad Ave., along Charlotte Street and onto Interstate 240 around 11 A.M.
All members are traveling to Raleigh to attend the memorial which will be held on Saturday at 1 P.M. The NC Fallen FF Memorial Service will be honoring our fallen firefighter Captain Jeff Bowen by placing his name on the memorial in Raleigh. Six NC communities that experienced line of duty deaths in 2011 will be represented as well.
