New family nurse practitioner joins Angel Primary Care

Angel Primary Care is pleased to announce the addition of Melanie Denny to our staff as a Family Nurse Practitioner and she brings her clinical experience with both adults and children to the practice. Her early nursing career includes five years in several US Army medical facilities, including time in Kosovo, Iraq, and Germany. After completing her military service, she has worked at medical facilities in Eastern North Carolina and Virginia. Melanie received her BSN from University of Virginia and her MSN from Duke University. She is in the process of completing her DNP, Doctor of Nursing Practice, from the University of Virginia.

Melanie was one of the first to ever receive the US Army’s Combat Action Badge. This award is presented to soldiers not eligible for the Combat Infantryman Badge but who has been actively engaged or engaged by the enemy and performed satisfactorily. This award has only been recognized since 2005.
