Open house for Nantahala, Pisgah forest plan changes tonight

From the U.S. Forest Service:

BREVARD, N.C. – The next open house, held as part of the Nantahala and Pisgah National Forests management plan revision process, will be held tonight in Brevard from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m.

The open house will be held at:

Transylvania County Library
212 South Gaston Street
Brevard, N.C. 28712

More than two dozen people attended the open house held in Marion last night. Dates and locations for all six open houses in November and December are available at www.fs.usda.gov/goto/nfsnc/nprevision.

At the open houses, attendees will have the opportunity to submit written ideas for how the 1987 management plan needs to be changed. Forest Service specialists will be on-hand to assist, answer questions and listen to concerns. Sample “Need-for-Change” statements were shared with the public in September. Sample statements are available at: http://www.fs.usda.gov/goto/nfsnc/nprevision.
