Pardee Hospital Foundation welcomes three new board members

Hendersonville, N.C. — Pardee Hospital Foundation has welcomed three new members to its Board of Directors: David Amsler, a retired public school administrator and development director at Wheaton College; James “Flip” Fisher, a pharmacist and owner of Whitley Drugs; and Ali Thomas, a broker associate at Beverly-Hanks & Associates.

Amsler, Fisher and Thomas will fill seats left vacant by outgoing board members John Hill, M.D., a medical oncologist at Pardee Hematology & Oncology; Bill Meyers, a retired U.S. Navy Commander; and Mark Morse, president of SELEE Corporation.

“I would like to welcome Ali, David and Flip to our Board of Directors. They each bring a wealth of knowledge from their respective fields, and we look forward to working with them this year,” said Kimerly Hinkelman, executive director of Pardee Hospital Foundation. “We are grateful to Dr. Hill, Mark and Bill for their service to our board. They were instrumental in our Cancer Center capital campaign and on our special committees. They will be missed.”

The 2018 Board of Directors includes Amy Treece, chairperson; Vaughan Matthews, vice chair of development; Jimmy Chandler, vice chair of governance; Beau Waddell, treasurer; Catherine Quinn, secretary; Carol Adams, David Amsler, Deanna Ellis, Patsy Farmer Jones, Flip Fisher, Monica Gillett, Bob Heilman, Jay Kirby, Bud Leonard, Steve Orr, Jan Richards and Ali Thomas.  Tammy Albrecht, Bill Moyer and Jack Summey serve as liaison members from the Pardee Hospital Board.

Pardee Memorial Hospital Foundation was approved as a nonprofit foundation in January 1996. The Foundation exists to educate and inspire the community to support Pardee UNC Health Care. Since its inception, the Foundation has generated more than $30 million in pledges and cash gifts for Pardee services. Pardee UNC Health Care is a not-for-profit community hospital founded in 1953 and is managed by UNC Health Care. The hospital is licensed for 222 acute care beds.
