Pardee hosts free prostate cancer info session and screening Sept. 17-18

Pardee UNC Health Care will host the “ABCs of Screening for Prostate Cancer” with W. Glover Little, M.D., a urologist at Pardee Urological Associates, on Monday, Sept. 17, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Pardee Cancer Center, located at 805 6th Avenue West in Hendersonville. Dr. Little will present on the who, what, when, where and why of prostate cancer, and will be available to speak one-on-one with guests afterward. Men ages 40 to 75 will have the opportunity to get pre-qualified for prostate screenings. Light snacks and beverages will be served. The event is free and open to the public.

Pardee will offer free prostate cancer screenings on Tuesday, Sept. 18 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Pardee Cancer Center. Participants must call 828-698-7317 prior to the event to get pre-qualified. Walk-ins will not be accepted. Spanish interpretation services will be available free of charge. Eligible candidates are men ages 40 to 75 who have never been diagnosed with or had treatment for prostate cancer and who have not been screened for prostate cancer within the last nine months. Pardee UNC Health Care is a not-for-profit community hospital founded in 1953 and is managed by UNC Health Care. The hospital is licensed for 222 acute care beds.
