Park Ridge Health’s 21st annual Frostbite race draws more than 700

Hendersonville, N.C. (February 19, 2013) — The Park Ridge Health Foundation hosted the 21st Annual Frostbite on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013. This premier race event presented by Southeastern Sports Medicine welcomed 701 runners and walkers who competed in the 10K, 5K and 1-Mile Run Run/Walk.

Sponsors and partners that made this event possible include Diamond Brand, Earthfare, Lelia Patterson Center, Chimney Rock Park, Jaguar Land Rover, Pepsi, Morris Broadband, BB&T, Friday Staffing, Hendersonville Pediatric Dentistry, Strawberry Hill, Buddy K Band, Jason Reagan, Henderson County Sheriff’s Department, Fletcher Police Department, City of Fletcher and the NC Highway Patrol.

Overall 5K winners were: 1st Place Female, Lizzy Hester of Boone, N.C.; 2nd Place Female, Kaylee Allmond of Hendersonville, N.C.; Female Masters Winner (age 40+), Amy Pearce of Hendersonville, N.C.; 1st Place Male, Ethien Arboleda of Flat Rock, N.C.; 2nd Place Male, Andrew Robinson of Horse Shoe, N.C.; and Male Masters Winner (age 40+), Stephen Powers of Hendersonville, N.C.

Overall 10K winners were: 1st Place Female, Suzanne Hutchins of Gastonia, N.C.; 2nd Place Female, Sarah Beth Lee of Waynesville, N.C.; Female Masters Winner (age 40+), Laura Rain Tree of Pisgah Forest, N.C.; 1st Place Male, Chris Dietrich of Eatonton, Ga.; 2nd Place Male, Shawn Bagley of Arden, N.C.; and Male Masters Winner (age 40+), Randy Wilson of Swannanoa, N.C. All proceeds of the 21st Annual Frostbite event will benefit Kid Power, a free program sponsored by Park Ridge Health that helps kids ages 8 through 18 learn about active living and healthy choices. More than 1,000 children and their families participate in the Kid Power program each year.
