Power management company Eaton bringing more than 100 jobs to Asheville area

Press release from Largemouth Communications:

Eaton announced investment plans for its manufacturing plant in Avery Creek, near Asheville, North Carolina, to support growing customer needs for its low-voltage switchgear used in data centers, commercial buildings and other mission critical settings. The power management company’s product line production expansion will result in a $1.15 million capital investment while bringing more than 100 jobs to the region over the next year.

The investment comes as market demand in hyperscale and data center business requires an increase in manufacturing capacity for Eaton’s low-voltage switchgear. More than 200 employees currently work at the Avery Creek facility, and that number is expected to grow to 300 by the end of 2021.

The Avery Creek transition will occur in several phases throughout 2021, with the first phase beginning in March. Capital investments will focus on a combination of manufacturing equipment and infrastructure upgrades within approximately 40,000 square feet of the existing facility.

Eaton has more than 3,600 employees in North Carolina across 18 facilities and office locations throughout the state. This includes approximately 1,300 employees in the Asheville area supporting Eaton’s Avery Creek and Arden facilities.
