From North Carolina Department of Transportation:
The N.C. Department of Transportation will host a public meeting for a proposed project to construct the Wilma Dykeman Greenway Extension from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 7 at The Cloud Room, 5 Foundy St.
The project involves the construction of a new 1.3-mile section of the Wilma Dykeman Greenway along N.C. 251 from near Hill Street to Pearson Bridge Road.
This greenway will provide an important northern connection in the larger trail network that makes up the River Arts District Transportation Improvement Project (RADTIP). The project is being locally administered by the City of Asheville with administrative oversight and project delivery being conducted by NCDOT.
Project details and maps can be found on the NCDOT project web page publicinput.com/wilma-dykeman-greenway-ext.
Project information will be available for the public to view and discuss with the project team during the informal, drop-in style meeting.
People may also submit comments prior to Aug. 21 by phone at 984-205-6615, project code 10354, by email at wilma-dykeman-greenway-ext@publicinput.com, or by mailing Gabriel Johnson, NCDOT Project Manager, 55 Orange St., Asheville, NC 28801.
